Every once and awhile this happens.  I find a really great piece to put in the Pursuing Vintage Shop…. and then I can’t part with it.

Faux Bamboo Thomasville Server Cart

Last week I found this Thomasville faux bamboo server.  I’m such a sucker for faux bamboo.  I knew it was a great piece when I saw it.  I brought it home, and decided to photograph it inside.  I put it in the space where I normally have my La Barge brass and glass cart (which I also love).  Once it was there, I couldn’t move it.  It works in that space!  I found another home for the La Barge cart, and ta da!  New furniture!  I got my faux bamboo fix.

The terrific painting is by Kerry Steele.  I normally have it on the wall in my dining room, but wanted to play with having some art on there.  I think I’ll keep this one in my dining room and get a smaller one for the cart.  I really like having some bold color on there.  Kerry, I’ll be shopping your gallery soon!

And look how perfectly the La Barge cart fits in the weird space next to my fireplace!  (I call it a weird space because it has been so difficult to find the right piece to place there.  I believe the problem is solved now!).

La Barge Cart Living Room

So, there ya have it.  I started with every intention to add another piece to the shop… and ended with a great new piece of furniture in my home.  It happens!  It’s a keeper!

Election day is over!  I’m so excited for those annoying political TV ads to end.

So, in honor of November 5th having come and gone, let’s put the campaign to bed.  Literally.  (Aren’t you used to my totally corny sense of humor yet??!)

Campaign Headboard Twin

This is a twin size headboard (measures 42″ wide and 38″ tall).  It is wood – and it is heavy.  Part of the back has some particle board of some sort:

Campaign Headboard Back

Overall it is in really good condition.  I don’t want to be the one to do it, but I think it would look terrific in a bright color (I keep seeing red in my mind).

Campaign Close Up

What color would you paint?  Or would you leave it au naturale?

That’s it for now — I’ve gotta get back to work!  Tomorrow is the culmination of the  One Room Challenge Linking Party.  Be sure to check out my Mudroom Makeover.  Do you think it will be done on time???!  I don’t know…  (No, really.  I don’t know…)

Today, be sure to check out the official One Room Challenge participants at Calling it Home.  Amazing work being done by everyone!

Now where did I put that hammer?

Yesterday I shared Baby Boy’s Big Boy Dresser with you.  I tried to bait you by letting you know that I had other pieces to the set that are available for purchase.  Did it work?  Are you back to check them out??!

The pieces are all part of Kent Coffey’s Foreteller collection.  The exact color is called “Tawney Walnut” – isn’t that poetic?  Not just walnut, oh no.  Tawney walnut!  All of the pieces are in really great condition.

Kent Coffey Foreteller Dresser

The nine drawer long dresser measures 64″l x 20″d x 31.5″h.  It is in great condition.  There is minor (age and use appropriate) surface wear to the top.  It has a coordinating mirror that just wouldn’t photograph well.  If you’re interested I can send you the pics I have.  The mirror comes on legs that slide into brackets on the back of the dresser.

Kent Coffey Foreteller Nightstand Kent Coffey Foreteller Nightstand Front

The nightstand measures 23″w x 14.5″d x 24″h.  I love the curved sides!

Kent Coffey Twin Headboard

The bed comes with a headboard (pictured) and metal rails (similar color to match the wood).  It also has a small foot board (only 14″h).  The headboard measures 42.5″w x 35″h.

One of the great things about these mid century long dressers is that they are so versatile.  They can be used as a dresser, a credenza, a sideboard/server, a TV stand – the possibilities are endless!  Here’s some inspiration:
