Can you believe Easter is right around the corner?!  My kids wake up every morning asking if the Easter Bunny was here… Ummm… no, not yet!  It’s going to be a long week and a half!

I want to share some fun Easter-inspired vintage finds with you!

Vintage Blue Cloissone Rabbit from Pursuing Vintage

This blue rabbit is so sweet and who doesn’t love blue with gold?!

I’m loving these alabaster eggs with their vintage stands.

Vintage Wire Egg Basket by Pursuing Vintage

This wire egg basket just screams put a plant in me!!!  Of course, it would be a great Easter egg basket!

Vintage Pysanka Eggs by Pursuing Vintage

These vintage Ukrainian pysanka (or pysanky) are colorful and whimsical.

None of these are necessarily things you can “only use at Easter”.  They would work great integrated into decor any time of the season.  But, if you order ASAP, you can receive them in time for the Easter holiday!  They are all available in the Pursuing Vintage Shop.

Louis Chair Makeover Inspiration by Pursuing Vintage

I have a fun new addition to the Pursuing Vintage Shop that will spark your imagination and get your creative juices flowing!  These Louis XV style chairs are in terrific condition, and the upholstery is clean.  But these need an update.  Seriously!

But think of the potential…  It’s time for some inspiration!

Let’s start by looking at this beautiful example available at Ballard for a pretty penny.  You can choose your fabric from a nice selection, but a single chair will run you $600-800.

How would YOU makeover these chairs?  Something bold and bright?  Or soft and traditional?

Most weekends I head out thrifting, I’m looking for awesome, unique items for the Pursuing Vintage Shop.  But this past weekend, I was shopping for awesome, unique items for myself!

I follow Sweet Clover Barn on Facebook, and saw they were opening up for an extra day last Saturday.  I perused the many photos of the shop that were posted, and my eye stopped on a vintage map.

You may remember, at the top of my 2015 Wish List was a vintage classroom roll-down map.  Seeing the photo on the Sweet Clover Barn Facebook page was the last bit of motivation I needed to head out on a cold Saturday morning to Frederick, Maryland.  I bribed the kids with some Dunkin Donuts, packed them in the car, and headed out for the hour drive.

Boy was it worth it!

Sweet Clover Barn is filled with so many amazing things.  You can find vintage, new, painted, refinished, jewelry, art, the list goes on.  The space is styled beautifully, with each vendor bringing their own bit of spice to the mix.  There was so much to look at – I could have spent a very long time there, but my two little “helpers” were eager to see the horses outside and get back into the warm car.

I fell in love with these items, and had to bring them home.

Someone had gotten the United States map before me (you have to get there early!) so I picked up Europe.  (Equally wonderful!) I plan on putting this in Big Boy’s room.  I also found a retro-cool trophy for Baby Boy’s room (whenever I get around to actually decorating it!). When I was photographing it, I noticed the original owner’s note on the bottom.  I love finding stuff like this!

I have a serious Lucite addiction, and couldn’t live without these napkin rings.

And I picked up this tortoise Bakelite bar ware set as a gift for my brother’s upcoming birthday.  (I gave him a terrific ice bucket and glassware set for Christmas, so this will complete the look!)

If you’re in the Washington, DC metro area, you should definitely check out Sweet Clover Barn.  Check their website for sales dates.  I can’t wait to go back!
