This is our first installment of Design Spark*! Design Spark* is a flash of inspiration to ignite beautiful design!
Today’s inspiration features a Blush & Brass vignette photo credited to the Jane Churchill collection at Cowtan & Tout. A recent visit to the Cowtan & Tout showroom at the Washington Design Center left me inspired by the beautiful blush tones in many of the Jane Churchill fabrics and wallpapers. I have such a weakness for pink! I just had to pull something together to highlight this collection! I’ve gathered a few pieces from the Pursuing Vintage shop to complement this beautiful vignette.
The room vignette features the Jane Churchill fabrics Lazurite (pink), Eris (silver), and Neve (pale silver). The soft blush of Lazurite paired with the clean brass details of the furnishings, and the silver Eris & Neve fabrics, ties this space together into a bold & feminine room.
I chose the vintage 1973 painting by Mexican artist Socram because of its coordinating colors and soft imagery. The strong brass bust of Athena, paired with the heavy brass rope detailed wall candelabra add weight to the space. The brass candlesticks of graduated height feature thin columns to mimic the mid century style of the sofa legs.
Here are some of the fabrics in the Jane Churchill collection. The bottom fabric is Lazurite in pink (the fabric featured on the settee). Other fabrics shown are (clockwise from bottom left) Fiora, Etta, Samara, and Corelli.
These beautiful fabrics can be seen at your local Cowtan & Tout showroom!
I hope you’ve enjoyed the first Design Spark* and that you’ve been inspired to create something beautiful today!
