I usually gravitate towards rooms filled with color.
And then there was this room. A decidedly neutral space.
Is it the stack of antique books I love? Or the fabulously-tall gilt mirror? Possibly the stunning crystal chandelier? Or maybe it’s the white upholstered bergeres? Or the unexpected pile of antlers on the mantel?
I think it is all of these elements combined in this bright space. Individually, these antiques could be very heavy. Put together, with the use of a neutral palette (neutral seagrass rug, white upholstery, and crisp white walls) this is a light-filled, airy space. (Of course, the beautifully huge windows help!).
This would be the perfect space to sit with a magazine, cup of coffee, and enjoy the quiet light.
Kristen I adore this room and pretty much everything about it. The tall flowering branches add a lot as well as everything you mentioned!
