Today is my birthday, and I’m
just another year older thankful for all the blessings life has brought this past year of my life. I find that as I get older, birthdays seem to get more and more uneventful – the gift-giving aspect is not as important because I’m surrounded by the best gifts everyday (my family).
My son has been making his birthday present list since his last birthday. We have almost half a year until he turns five, and he’s got a really long list created! So, I’m going to take a page out of his book, and create a dream list of what I want for my birthday. “Dream” as in “if I had all the money and space in the world”.
See anything you want to add to your list? We can order two! I particularly love that lucite etagere and the faux bamboo daybed! I know I could find a place for that large brass elephant, too.
Now I’m off to enjoy another cup of coffee and, let’s face it, probably do something really exciting… like laundry!
In honor of Memorial Day, my husband painted our front lawn Adirondack chairs red, white, and blue.
These chairs sit in our front lawn – they’re purely for decoration. They had always been red, but recently my husband started painting them to complement the seasons. We had a beach-y blue last summer, Redskins colors during football season, white in winter, pink in spring, and now our patriotic set. We usually have just a pair of them, but I recently came across a couple more, and you know, you can never have too many Adirondack chairs! It’s really become a “thing” in the neighborhood – I have many neighbors who keep a look out to see what color the chairs will be next. My husband gets a kick out of it. And I think it’s kinda cute.
Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!
