Every once and awhile this happens. I find a really great piece to put in the Pursuing Vintage Shop…. and then I can’t part with it.
Last week I found this Thomasville faux bamboo server. I’m such a sucker for faux bamboo. I knew it was a great piece when I saw it. I brought it home, and decided to photograph it inside. I put it in the space where I normally have my La Barge brass and glass cart (which I also love). Once it was there, I couldn’t move it. It works in that space! I found another home for the La Barge cart, and ta da! New furniture! I got my faux bamboo fix.
The terrific painting is by Kerry Steele. I normally have it on the wall in my dining room, but wanted to play with having some art on there. I think I’ll keep this one in my dining room and get a smaller one for the cart. I really like having some bold color on there. Kerry, I’ll be shopping your gallery soon!
And look how perfectly the La Barge cart fits in the weird space next to my fireplace! (I call it a weird space because it has been so difficult to find the right piece to place there. I believe the problem is solved now!).
So, there ya have it. I started with every intention to add another piece to the shop… and ended with a great new piece of furniture in my home. It happens! It’s a keeper!

The faux bamboo server is fantastic. I am a little jealous. Thanks for the mention too.
Perfect! Don’t you just love those finds? My house is full of those…”OH, I MUST HAVE THAT for my shop…but maybe it will hang around the house for a few years first!”
Awesome find Kristen! Looks great!
