I got another catalog in the mail last week.  But this one caught my eye.  It was the Fall 2013 Schoolhouse Electric (& Supply Company) catalog.

I first got to know Schoolhouse back when we remodeled our house.  My husband and I fell in love with their vintage-inspired lighting.  We ended up purchasing a ceiling fixture from them for our mudroom (… oh… yes, the same mudroom I’m currently redoing as a One Room Challenge Linking Participant. (See photo below for light fixture, and click here to read about the mudroom makeover).

Back then, Schoolhouse only sold lights.  Thus the Schoolhouse Electric.  Maybe I haven’t been paying attention, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how Schoolhouse has expanded their products.

First, I have to say what caught my attention was that the catalog feels good.  The texture.  Its not glossy.  And it’s big.  And photography is interesting, the style fun.  The catalog has furniture, rugs, accessories, art, bedding, oh and lighting.  Don’t forget the lighting.  They’ve kept their traditional “schoolhouse” style, but also have jumped into the realm of mid century.  Let’s take a look:

Fresh and funky, right?

Here’s a closer look at some of the great products they’re offering:

I’m just showing you the tip of the iceberg.  It’s nice to see someone besides West Elm using MCM as inspiration.  And, I appreciate that they have a nice mix of styles to offer.  OH – and did I mention they have a blog?!  I’ll be keeping an eye on it.  I’m excited to see what they do next!

What do you think of the new and improved Schoolhouse Electric?

Don’t forget to check in Thursday to read about my progress with the One Room Challenge!
