The piece of furniture I’m featuring today is extremely unique.  It uses straight lines, curved lines, glass, mirror, gold and an overall feeling of late 70’s/early 80’s disco glam.

ELLO Server Buffet Gold Mirror

ELLO Vintage Server Buffet Mirror & Gold

This server has had one owner.  It is in overall good condition.  It has some scuffing at the bottom, visible in the photo.  I can give you more specifics and close up photos if you’re interested.

The measurements of the piece are: 54″ wide x 19″ deep x 30.5″ tall.

The interior of the server has a terrific drawer for keeping your silverware.

The piece is not marked, but the time period, original purchase price, and details on the piece suggest that it most likely is Ello.  I have to give thanks to a super-helpful reader in California, Becky, for helping me determine the most-likely maker.  (Thanks Becky!!)

Let’s look at some different ways to use mirrored furniture:

I love love love faux bamboo.  Really love it.  I don’t know what it is … maybe the daydream of living near a sandy beach?  The way the lines are not straight, but offer something unexpected?  The way a faux bamboo piece looks in a bright color and lacquered?  (Sigh)  Its just fabulous.  But, for all its fabulous-ness, I have yet to incorporate much of it into my own home.  I think I’m still pursuing the perfect piece.  The only piece I’ve kept for myself is this sweet (yet practical!) magazine basket.

Bamboo Mag Rack

I love faux bamboo so much, that I think I’ll do a little faux bamboo series.  I couldn’t possibly cover all the great pieces out there in one post!  So, let’s break it down.  Today we’ll check out dressers & consoles.
