I came across funky vintage children’s reference books recently – I was drawn to their colorful spines.
They were published in 1953. A flip through one of these books is like taking a ride in a time machine.
This set of books got me thinking about creative ways to store and display books in a child’s room. Here are some of my favorite ideas:
An old library cart tugs at my heart – I’ve always loved libraries!
How charming is this little red wagon?! I’m sure my boys wouldn’t be tempted to pull the wagon around the house……
Though this example isn’t from a kid’s room, I just LOVE this idea, and think it would be perfect for a vintage-inspired room.
I think any of these storage/display options would look cute with colorful books and vintage accessories. I’m now on the lookout for a vintage library cart or vintage lockers for Baby Boy’s room. (One of these days it will get that makeover I’ve been dreaming of!).
The set of colorful vintage children’s books is available in the Pursuing Vintage Shop!
I adore the pastel colors on those books Kristen. Try to find 2 library carts while you are out there hunting, I can see you upcyling one as a bar cart on the patio outside, right? Happy Monday, Mary Beth
Beautiful books, love the colors! The titles are so intriguing, especially “Stepping Stones”…
I love the wagon idea and the old library cart! As our kid’s library is growing, I am trying to find creative ways to display his books.
These are such cute ideas!
