Yesterday I shared my favorite art masterpieces from the estate of Mrs. Paul Mellon. Rachel “Bunny” Mellon was a woman of great style and grace, known for her horticultural talents. Her style was absorbed by icons such as Jackie Kennedy, and she was admired for her “understated elegance” (Architectural Digest).
Sotheby’s is auctioning off the contents of her estate this month. The three-part auction includes her fine art, jewels, and interiors. Today I wanted to share a few of my favorites from the “Jewels & Objects of Vertu” auction coming up on November 20/21.
Group of 5 Gold & Bamboo Pens by Cartier
The auction includes a range of beautiful items, including diamond necklaces, Cartier earrings, Rolex watches, a Faberge cigarette case, a 18th & 19th century snuff boxes, Cartier pens, gold frames, and Dior handbags. Take a look at the full Sotheby’s catalog and enjoy the sparkle and shine.
Be sure to stop by tomorrow to see the amazing pieces included in the “Interiors” auction.
Speaking of interiors – did you see my One Room Challenge Powder Room Makeover reveal? Be sure to check it out and let me know what you think!
Well, darn it. I am too busy to bid on these little items. It is okay. my jewelry box is stuffed full. Love that you are sharing these tie-bits, Kristen. A girl after my own heart, a love for the beauty of things from the past.
