I went to the DC Design House last week – oh what an amazing place!  Every room was beautiful.  Every space was executed with such thought and consideration for beauty.  I have my favorite rooms, of course.  And a few that just didn’t resonate with me.  But I left the house with design on the mind, and even had sweet dreams about fabric swatches and furniture that night!  (Not joking.)

DC Design House

Today for The Pink Pagoda’s Blue & White Bash, I wanted to share some of my photos from the Design House with you – featuring blue & white, of course.

Disclaimer: I wasn’t sure if I could bring my camera (being a Design House novice), and so I didn’t.  And, of course, my cell phone is lacking in memory space, so I was only able to snap a few shots.  Ughh.  Live and learn.

My favorite room was the dining room.  Look at this table.  Check out the use of blue & white!  And can you see the green malachite Parson’s table back there?  That was one of a pair – stunning!  I also like the contrast of the light chairs with the dark wood table.

There was a beautiful display of blue & white porcelain in the window of the dining room.

(This was just the right half of the collection!  The left half was just as beautiful.)

Every bedroom should have a bar.  And a blue & white garden stool.

Such a great vignette, right?

It’s not blue & white, but I do “have a thing” for lucite.

Hello, my love!

Can you even imagine?  There were two of these chairs in the living room.  A beautiful neutral room mixed with antiques and some modern elements.  For me, these chairs were the stars of the room.  Just amazing.

So, there you have it.  My few photos from the DC Design House.  It is open through May 11th (what a terrific way to spend Mother’s Day!).  The event raises money for The Children’s National Health System.  Design and charity all in one – it can’t get much better.  Go, check it out, and be inspired!  (And don’t forget your camera!).

Take a peek at all the other blue & white inspired posts today at The Pink Pagoda!

You have such a good eye, Kristen. I love how you caught the chair upholstery in the dining room picture. That table is set so beautifully!

this post made me laugh because that’s SO what i do…snapping pictures (like while shopping in anthropologie) and feeling like someone’s going to tackle me any minute for it! but i’m glad you took the risk because these shots are beautiful!
