Today I have a beautiful vintage Chinese export blue and white jar to share with you.
It doesn’t have a lid (with older jars this happens – it becomes more common to find them without the lids) but it is a beautiful vase. After some online research, I feel this jar is probably from the late 1800’s, but I am certainly not an expert!
It measures approximately 7″ tall and the base is 7″ in diameter. It is marked on the bottom with the red wax export seal, meaning this piece was approved by the Chinese government for export. As you can see from the photo, it is more of a stoneware than a pure porcelain, which further demonstrates that this is an older piece.
It is in really beautiful condition.
Do you have a spot for it in your home? If so, you can find it in the Pursuing Vintage Shop.
