Lucite is back, it is versatile, and it is FABULOUS (you have to say “fab-u-lous”!).  Friday’s Featured Find was a lucite and glass coffee table.  Apartment Therapy has a great post on the history of lucite.  Today, I’m featuring an Etsy shop that incorporates lucite into custom made furniture and offers lucite legs for you to add to your own pieces.

Lucite Leg Creations/Lucid Design is an Etsy shop out of New York.  I first found Lucid Design looking at all things lucite.  I think the idea to attach lucite legs to existing furniture is perfection!  What a great way to update an old piece – to give it a splash of glam!

I was curious, so I asked Frank of Lucid Design a few questions:

Pursuing Vintage:  How long have you been creating furniture?

Lucid Design: I have grown up in the design industry, so one can say all my life. I started my own business in 2008.

Pursuing Vintage: What inspires your designs?

Lucid Design: I am inspired by modern design with an old fashion twist. I like my pieces to have a modern feel with traditional touches.

Pursuing Vintage: Can the lucite legs be customized? How are they attached to an existing piece of furniture?

Lucid Design:  The legs can be customized any height and shape. The legs are easily attached to any piece of furniture with wood screws that are included by request.

Pursuing Vintage: Your headboards and daybeds are made-to-order, meaning the client can choose fabric etc?

Lucid Design: All of our pieces are custom made. Each client has the option of choosing to use his/her own fabric, or we have an extensive selection of designer fabrics as well. The options are limitless. You will have a one of a kind piece. Which now in days, is not so easy to come by.

I hope you’ll stop by Lucite Leg Creations/Lucid Design and check out what they have to offer!

And, just in case you’re trying to think of things you can add lucite legs to, here’s some inspiration!

Can you think of anything else that would look FABULOUS (fab-u-lous) with a set of lucite legs?  Let me know!
