Maybe she’s La Vieja’s aunt?  A teacher?  A secretary?  A doctor?  I don’t know who she is, but I do wonder about her story.  And I also know that if she stays as a “foster portrait” in my home for very long, she’ll be adopted by yours truly!  Doesn’t she have a terrific gaze?  What on earth is she thinking?  I think I could sit for a long while and imagine a story for her.  I really love the blue of her blouse and the shading of the background.  Its almost as if she’s glowing.

Oil Portrait Woman Blue Shirt

She measures approximately 16″ x 20″, not including the frame.  She is signed “McBroen”.  There is no visible date.  She appears to be professionally framed, but there is no wire on the back.

She’s in the Pursuing Vintage Shop.  Hurry!  Get her before I change my mind!

One more thing – don’t forget to share a post on Facebook or tell your friends about Pursuing Vintage!  Once the Pursuing Vintage Facebook page has 100 followers I’ll give away some pretty blue & white to a lucky winner!

Have a great weekend!

She is a mysterious looking woman. I love a good mystery. Maybe she longed to study architecture in Europe, but instead ended up marrying her college sweetheart, joining the Junior League and hosting dreary teas and sedate cocktail parties. Hence, the far off look as she dreams of a life she never knew. I love a mystery steeped dreams and desires lost. Weird, I know. English Lit major, we were the weird people on campus, too. Always with our nose in a book and coffee mug in the other, dressed in black, dreaming of becoming a wicked author of amazing proportions. I myself ended up teaching pre-school ! (The best job in the whole world!) I do love the colors. You have an awesome eye!
